TRUNK(HOTEL) Announces FY2024 Donation Recipients, Partnering with Four Organizations for Authentic Social Contribution

TRUNK(HOTEL) is a Japanese boutique hotel brand operated by TRUNK Co., Ltd. (Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Yoshitaka Nojiri). As part of its commitment to “Socializing” – a concept defined as “to live true to yourself, without undue pressure, but with a life-sized social purpose” – the hotel donates a portion of its sales to organizations selected based on five elements: “Environment,” “Local first,” “Diversity,” “Health,” and “Culture.”For FY2024, the following four organizations have been selected as donation recipients from a pool of entities (including organizations, individuals, and companies) nominated by employees who considered their affinity with “socializing” and their potential for future collaborations with TRUNK(HOTEL).The selection process involved a primary screening based on submitted documents, followed by a secondary (final) screening in which the shortlisted entities gave presentations. The entire process employed a voting system by all TRUNK employees, ensuring fair selection based on their understanding and empathy towards the activities and intended use of the donated funds.

Certified Non-Profit Organization ReBit
Aiming for a society where LGBTQ individuals can learn, work, and live authentically, it was established in 2009 as a certified NPO. It has conducted over 2,200 LGBTQ-related classes and training sessions for schools, government bodies, and corporations. Additionally, it has provided career support to over 18,000 LGBTQ individuals and offers welfare services primarily for double minorities (LGBTQ individuals with mental or developmental disabilities) at its two locations in Tokyo and Osaka. Addressing the concerns of LGBTQ youth, this donation will be used for various initiatives, including outreach programs to promote understanding among children and adults in educational settings, as well as education, career support, welfare, and community development projects.

Certified Non-Profit Organization Shibuya University Network
Based on the principle of “the entire city as a campus,” Shibuya University has been planning and operating free classes since 2006, utilizing various local spaces as learning environments. With over 45,000 participants to date, it acts as a citizen-led learning infrastructure, contributing to the alleviation of urban isolation and the revitalization of local communities through interactions that transcend generations and social positions, from children to the elderly. The donated funds are primarily intended for the expansion of free classes and the development of new projects, including an international exchange program with South Korea.

The donated funds will be used for the planning and operational costs of events.

Bonchi inc.
A startup brand aiming to create a new agricultural ecosystem, operating an online store that directly delivers safe and environmentally friendly fruits produced by contracted farmers practicing natural farming, reduced pesticide use, and no chemical fertilizers. The donation is planned to be used for hosting tree-planting events and purchasing saplings.

Next year, we plan to accept general applications from organizations, companies, and individuals who resonate with our concept of “Socializing.” We will announce the start of applications on our official website and other channels.
